If you were friends with me back in my uni years (1998-2001ish, god we're old) you may remember a certain Australian comix zine anthology by the name of Sick Puppy Comix, edited by a fellow named Stuart Stratu.
These days people get corrupted by things like 4chan; I rate Sick Puppy as being right up there with Ai No Kusabi as a vital factor in my personal artistic downfall. :D It ran for 13 amazing issues and was full of extreme and wrong things illustrated in amazing detail, but that was the point - the art was of consistently high quality and I always felt the underlying theme was raw entertaining honesty. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but let's be honest, I have dubious reading habits!
After Sick Puppy, Stratu released one issue of Atomiser - and then he was gone. When I read this week that he was working on a new zine, I rejoiced! When he got a freaking LiveJournal this week, I knew I had to contribute and tell the rest of you about it too.
So please consider submitting to Blackguard #1: Religious Crazies or sending in your comic or zine for review. The deadline is 31 August so the zine can come out in time for This Is Not Art, which I am suddenly looking forward to even more thanks to the existence of Blackguard.
zpxlng,
practice_cactus,
queenvera,
tachikoma and any Australian comics people who fondly remember Sick Puppy, I believe I'm looking pointedly at you.
Welcome back, Maxwell! ;D
God it's almost like my new zine has another new zine to have a big gay crush on, how fitting!

We're back from the Hunter! It was awesome and we have eaten SO MUCH you would not believe it. Wander seems to have behaved himself while being birdsat, but he missed us too - he's spent an hour or so nestled next to
evilhayama's ankles and the next hour or so nestled next to my neck, all fluffy and happy.
Like all of our best holidays, I had no internet access so of course I started doing actual work on one of my projects! Ren'Py suddenly started making a ton of sense and... well, when you eat extremely good food for almost a week with four glasses of wine a day, all you're going to do is think about it...

People who I've either asked (begged) to work on the game or have expressed interest in helping, I'll create a filter and let you try playing the first couple of scenes soon!
We're downloading tons and tons of E3 trailers and videos right now and ooookay! All three consoles are converging interface-wise, feature-wise and game-wise and I still don't need a PS3?It's just as well, we ate about a PS3 worth of food in the last five days. Hot daaaamn I am looking forward to all those delicious RPGs though. :D~~~
Edit: MOST LOL-RIFIC GAME NEWS EVER

I haven't birdblogged in a while! We didn't really take any photos of Wander at maximum spikiness since it looks kinda creepy...
evilhayama didn't even want to touch them >_>
But as you can see, his markings are changing! The constant itching or whatever means he's still kinda bitey, but bitey is not that threatening when you weigh a whopping 90 grams.
I am definitely sick but I have a week off so now I can finally recover!

It's really really cold and I think I've finally managed to get sick, just mere days before I get a week off! *sniffle*

I mean of course I'd consider buying this anyway, but using Hamish Blake to sell me your cooking game is just cheating!!
